Welcome to Nkong Hill Top Common Initiative Group (NCIG) a non profit, non governmental community based organisation in Buea , Cameroon .

Nkong Hill Top Common Initiative Group (NCIG) was formed in June 1996 by six promoters. This was at the height of the economic crisis that hit Cameroon in the mid 80s. It was registered formally registered as a CBO No SW/GP/01/96/207 in Cameroon .

We strive for a world in which human dignity is protected from the ravages of poverty, ignorance, discrimination and violence.

To improve the quality of life for the urban and rural poor through shared and voluntary effort, equal opportunity and sustainable community initiative.

  Background

Nkong Hill Top Common Initiative Group (NCIG) was formed by 6 promoters in 1996, against the background of a very severe economic recession in Cameroon .

Status

NCIG is registered as a community based, non-governmental organisation. Its Head Office is at Buea , Cameroon .

Goal

The aim of NCIG is improve the socio-economic status of the community, especially the rural and urban poor woman.

Objectives

•  Improve rural livelihoods through sustainable agriculture and permanent self-employment

•  Promote Gender Equality

•  Increase access for the poor, especially women, to credit for income generating purposes

•  Enhance Community Access to Information Technology for Development Information.

•  Improve community participation in primary health care, especially in Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, and Malaria Control.

•  Promote community use of renewable energy and participation in environmental protection
